Malaga Youth Camps

It's about a great time.  It's about a great God!

Junior Camp at Malaga is an over-night camp  for those students who are entering 4th through 6th grade, however, this year we are also making this camp available for campers entering 7th grade.  The camp begins on Sunday afternoon and runs through Saturday morning.  The children stay in various dorms around the camp and are supervised by counselors who are very familiar with Malaga Camp, since many of them have grown up through our camp program.  Our goal is to have at least two counselors in each dorm, with one of them being an adult (over the age of 18).  We also have a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program, which allows 16 year old counselors to be a part of our program as well as train alongside our adult staff.
Each year we have a theme for our week, and the entire week revolves around this theme.  Past themes have been The Fruit of the Spirit, The Books of the Bible, The Armor of God, Holidays, 10 Commandments, Walk Through the Old Testament, and Walk Through the New Testament just to name a few.  Our theme this year is Creation.  Campers will learn about each day of creation, along with Scripture to reinforce what they are learning. More importantly, they will get to know The Creator Himself.   They will learn that before a single star was placed in the sky, God loved them more than anything.
A typical day at Junior Camp:
Morning Devotions
Breakfast
Dorm Cleaning
Morning Bible Lesson, Bible Verse Games, and Crafts.
Lunch
Ballfield play time  (there may be some off camp activities at this time also)
Dinner
Our evening activities can vary from a night swim to a baseball game.

There is NEVER a time during the day when your children are without a staff member with them.  They are under the constant supervision of our staff.
We understand that for some of your children this is their first time away from home overnight, let alone an entire week, but we have discovered that 99.9% of the time this is more difficult for the parents than the child.  We encourage your children to use this time to grow old friendships and make new friends during the week.  These friendships can last a lifetime!

If you have any questions about Junior Camp you are encouraged to
contact the Directors, or contact the Camp Registrar. We here at Malaga Camp are committed to the spiritual growth of children, and it is our PRIVILEGE to have the opportunity to spend a week with your child to share laughs, a few tears, make memories, and show them the love of the Savior. God bless you and your family, and we look forward to seeing your children here at Malaga this summer!
